Webinar
Waacking & Pride
Time: 7-8 PM ET
Pricing: $20
Location: Online (Zoom Webinar)
Instructors:
Join David Cartahena Lee (dancer, choreographer, educator, and curriculum writer) for an immersive introduction to waacking, a powerful dance form rooted in queer history and self-expression.
As we get ready to enter Pride season, this webinar invites participants to explore the vibrant legacy of waacking — born in the LGBTQ+ clubs of 1970s Los Angeles — as a celebration of resilience, joy, and identity. Together, we will learn about the cultural origins of waacking, why honoring queer dance forms matters, and embody foundational techniques that invite both freedom and fierceness into our dancing. No prior experience necessary — just an open heart and a willingness to move.
This session provides access to both the live Zoom webinar on Thursday, May 8 from 7-8 pm ET, AND the recorded webinar.
All registrants receive access to the recorded session through June 30, 2025.
Webinar Cost: $20, plus processing fee
