PS DANCE!

DEL Founder, Jody Gottfried Arnhold, with Nel Shelby Productions, has now produced two feature-length documentary films about dance education in public schools.

PS Dance! The Next Generation (2022)

PS DANCE! THE NEXT GENERATION shows what happens when students are empowered to become teachers. When Ann Biddle, Director of the DEL Institute, moved to Northampton, MA, she was determined to bring dance education to public schools. She turned to her students at the Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Public Charter School (PVPA) to make it happen. High school and middle school dance students are trained in the DEL teaching model and then teach dance residencies in local elementary schools.

The program’s unique combination of community service, tiered mentorship, collaborative dance-making, and leadership training is nothing short of transformational. Check out the feature in Dance Teacher Magazine.
